Static Review Guide

Can't drive the car? The review can still be strong. Here's how.

When to Use This Guide

  • The car can only be observed from outside and inside the cabin (static)
  • No test drive route is available
  • Time is too tight for a test drive

What to Replace in the Driving Section

Replace "Driving Impressions" with one of these formats:

ADriver's Seat Analysis

Sit in the driver's seat. Analyze what you FEEL without driving:

  • Seating position — low/high, sporty/relaxed, forward visibility
  • Steering wheel — size, shape, material, adjustable?
  • Pedals — positioning, distance, feel (brake, gas)
  • Blind spots — mirrors, size, adjustability
  • 360/reverse camera — quality, resolution, parking guides
  • Sound system — turn on music, test bass, clarity, max volume
  • AC — how fast it cools, noise, dual zone?
  • Sunroof / moonroof — open/close, view upward
B"Predicting" from Specs

Use technical data to "forecast" the driving experience:

  • "With [X] horsepower and a weight of [Y] tons, the power-to-weight ratio is around [number]. That's [fast/average/slow] for this segment."
  • "[Type] suspension usually delivers [character]. We'll see if [Brand] has tuned it well."
  • "Tires are [size]. For a car weighing [weight], that's [adequate/too small/ideal]."
  • "Ground clearance is [X] mm. That means [can/can't] handle speed bumps without issues."
Important: Don't lie or fabricate. Use words like "should", "likely", "based on the specs". The audience knows you didn't drive it — be honest about that.
CShift to "Why You Should Buy This"

Instead of driving, use the time for value proposition:

  • Who is the target buyer? Family? Professional? Adventure enthusiast?
  • Compare with 2 direct competitors — price, features, value
  • Cost of ownership — fuel, servicing, insurance, resale value
  • When is the right time to buy? Wait for discounts? Wait for the new model year?
  • Deal or no deal? At this price, is this the smart buy?

Recordings That Still Matter (Static)

Shoot These Even Without Driving
  • Sound system test — play music, record audio from inside the cabin. Great content.
  • Seat adjustment demo — show all seat positions, massage, ventilation.
  • Sunroof operation — open/close, record the view upward.
  • Visibility test — sit in driver's seat, record the view forward, mirrors, reverse camera.
  • Suspension toggle — if there's a suspension adjustment button, demonstrate it.
  • Engine start sound — turn on the engine without driving. Record idle sound.
